The simplest way

Method

  • Measure out 3 cups water
  • Measure out 112 cups jasmine rice
  • Bring the water to a rolling boil
  • Add the rice, stir, and cover
  • Wait until steam comes out of the lid and turn the heat down to low
  • Cook covered for 1612 minutes
  • Turn the heat off and leave covered for at least 5 minutes
  • Fluff and serve

Notes

The ratio for water to basmati/jasmine rice is around 2:1. You can go down to 1.5:1 but it might be a bit too dry, depending on your rice.

I don't bother washing the rice, but you can if you want it to be less sticky.
