Hard Boiled Eggs

Method

Steaming Method

  • Fill a medium (3 L) pot with a centimeter of water
  • Bring to a boil
  • Place eggs in carefully with tongs
  • Cover and turn to medium/high heat, make sure steaming is happening but not too violently
  • Wait 91⁄2 minutes
  • Cool off with running water
  • Let sit in cool water for at least 10 mins

Boiling Method

  • Put eggs in a medium pot
  • Fill so water covers them by an inch
  • Bring water to a rolling boil
  • Cover and remove from the heat
  • Wait 17 minutes
  • Cool off with running water

Notes

The steaming method is more consistent for me than the boiling method, and you have to boil less water so it's faster.
