Ingredients
| ¾ cup — | water |
| ¾ cup — | white sugar |
| 1 — | cinnamon stick |
| 1 — | orange |
| 10 — | whole cloves |
| 1 (750 ml) — | bottle red wine |
Method
- Add the water, sugar, and cinnamon to a ~3L pot
- Cut the orange and squeeze the juice into the pan
- Stick the cloves into the orange peel and add it to the pan
- Simmer for 30 minutes, until thick and syrupy
- Remove and discard the orange peel
- Add red wine and heat until steaming but not simmering
- Serve hot
